Camp Activites

Camp Activities

At SPIRIT, our days also include more traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts, campfires, talent shows, skits, cookouts, and more. Each day has a theme that gets carried through our practices and activities. Campers discuss the value of these personal development areas and how they affect the success of a team. We also discuss how these attributes can be used in everyday living -- in the dorms, in the dining hall, at home and at school.

Discussions, activities and staff skits address the following:

Confidence and Self Esteem

Cooperation and Teamwork

Responsibility and Pulling Your Own Weight

Leadership and Fairness

Activity periods (1:30 - 3 p.m. and 7 - 8:30 p.m.) are predetermined by the coaching staff. Sometimes a choice is given, sometimes the campers are divided into groups, and sometimes everyone participates in the same activity.

    Advisor-Advisee Program
Advisor/Advisee Program - Campers at SPIRIT are put into groups according to age. Approximately six to eight campers are in each group. One coach/advisor works hand-in-hand with a group throughout their stay at SPIRIT. Campers issues are addressed daily, and their well-being and happiness is monitored closely by their advisor. This allows for a great deal of attention to be showered on the individual camper. Discussions, skits and personal development are part of these meetings.
